My opinion of the book "When my name was Keoko"

          I really like the book that we read in class because it is a great book. This book contains an exciting conflict and lots of surprises that really freaked me out because I can't imagine that the surprise would happen. This book hooks me to keep on reading. I love this book and thanks to Ms Patrice she had chosen this book for as a novel.

My visualization

    When I was reading, many images appeared in my head. When I was reading When My name was Keoko. I imagined how the CO read the letter. I think it looks really weird because it is a mixture of both happiness and worry. I also visualized how the Koreans were so happy when they knew that the Japanese is defeated. Last but not least, I imagined a really cool scene of the chaotic time when the Koreans were taking revenges on the Japanese ♥

Hello everyone, I am writing this as a member of the academy group of the BBC Channel. I had introduced you to two good books in the last two blogs, the two videos, actually. This is me again. This time, I will talk about a book called "My teacher glows in the dark written by Bruce Coville. The cover of the book looks like the one above.

This book is a series of intensifying events that happen all on a spaceship that has the size of New Jersey! You will totally be hook into reading about these astonishing characters running in an exciting conflict and leads to a trouble-full ending. This book is very good, you will feel bad if you put the book down because your brain makes you to keep on reading and reading until you find out what happens to this character or that character. This book is a book worth for you to spend your times reading. Bruce Coville had written this book using easy English, therefore, this book can be suitable for beginner readers. For the beginners, it will help you develop your vocabulary tank, your grammar knowledge and a lot of other things. I bet that you will have a good time. So, why don't you go over to Ms. Stacia, check out the book or the first book of it in the series "My teacher is an Alien" and start sticking your eyes to it. You will certainly be dazzled by it.

Recommendations before, while, and after you read:
To make the book more interesting to read, I have some small but helpful recommendations for you. Before you read, you should predict what and who you will meet. You should also read the summary at the back of the book. If you want, you can go online and search on Google as this book to see how people think about it. While you read the book, I recommend you use the reading strategies, especially the visualizing, connecting and questioning strategy. All these strategies contribute into making the book fascinating, I promise. As you use the Visualizing strategy, it is somehow, pretty much like watching a movie. Pictures of what is going on in the book will appear in your head if you are using the strategy properly. Creating connections between the characters and yourself, another text or the world would also make it more exciting as you realize the similarities and differences. The questioning strategy contributes to the excitement of the book by creating suspense while you are reading. After you read, you should now sit back and answers the questions you had pose while you are reading. You should also recall your predictions before reading the book and see if they match with the contents in the book.

               Through 12 years of existence on Earth, I had read lots and lots of amazing books! I had read Fantasy books and I really like Fire Bringers. I had also read many kinds of book but the best book I had ever read was the series of Harry Potter.

            The series of Harry Potter is extremely good, interesting and exciting. When you pick the book up, you will notice a good cover. As your eyes sail through the summary on the back cover, you will discover the thorny adventures with precise words and descriptions! You will find the beginning of the book boring, just like me, but as you go farther inside the book, you will absorb the attractivity of the book and you will probably want to read more. This book is written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling or as you know, J.K.Rowling which is an incredible author! She is a creative and smart writer who wrote a great plot for Harry Potter and organized the book logically that can prevent impatient people jumping ahead of the book!
            I really recommend you this book. If you had never read it before or had never heard of it, then you should check it out and read it, enjoy!

Cirque Du Freak - Trials of Death

        Do not comment on the picture I took please! C:. The book "Trials of Death" is an interesting series of thorny life-or-death trials that Darren had to face. He had passed the 3th trial but in the 4th trial, he did not really fail but he got help so the princes are consulting of their sentence. And at that time, Darren recognizes that one of the vampire in the Vampire mountain is a traitor! Let's find out what will happen next in the book "The Vampire Prince". This book is a series of events that make the reader hungry for more. In this book, Darren didn't have to face any challenge until the end of the book. In the next book, which is The Trial Of Death, Darren will have to face a life-or-death trial which he needs to do to prove himself that he has the ability to be a vampire's assisstant.           I had just finished the book called "Cirque Du Freak" which means Circus of the Freaks in French. This book is quite interesting. The words used in the text are simply easy to understand. I recommend you reading this book, and I recommend you to read it slowly because I finished it quick and I found out it is just so sad to go so fast in a good book. If you are a beginner reader, you can read this book or the Magic thief series I had introduce to you before in my blog.

The Hunger Games (I just finished)......

The Hunger Games is certainly a book you should read. I'll tell you this, you have to be very patient because the author was very smart when she wrote this book. At about the middle-end of the book, around page 250 and further, you will be very curious of what will happen next. However, if you jump ahead, you won't be able to understand what's going on. That way, the author had a way to keep you reading and not jumping ahead. !!

I am reading "Cirque du freak, A living nightmare...".

I just start reading this book today (Sept 1st). My school's librarian said this book is really good so chose to read it as the second book I'll read in Ms Patrice class.           I am reading the last book! It is really cool. I am only reading the beginning but I bet this book will be fabulous because my Eng. teacher told me so :) If you find this book, read it because you will find it very interesting.

My favorite school subject!!!

I LIKE MATH (because I am really good at it!!) and ENGLISH!

My Math teacher is from Canada and he is going to kich me up to 8th grade Math (I am in 7th grade Math now). I can solve the quadratic equation, something like
ax(sq) + bx + c = 0 :P

My English teacher is also from Canada and she's really cool! She sings like Katy Perry :). No wonder why she teaches choir :)).

One of my favorite book

This is a series of book which is incredibly exciting. You won't be able to put the books down once you start reading it (only if you're mother or your father make you to go to sleep or to anything of your necessity). You will be very curious about what is going to happen in the book because the details are very precise and they will drive your brain into a world of magical things. Anyway, this book is extremely good. Though, this book is quite easy to read, if you are a beginner in reading, you should try this. It uses simple words that can make you easily understand. This book is written by Sarah Prineas. She's living in Iowa.

Before writing Magic Thief, she wrote a lot of fantasy stories for adults; She didn't even think of myself as a writer for children until her agent sold the book and two sequels to HarperCollins Children's. Now she's having a lot of fun being a kids book writer.  Another thing about her is that she have a thing for dragons. She even have a collection of dragon action figures.

My favorite author

My favorite author is JKRowling who wrote my favorie books, the Harry Potter series. Her books are exciting and they make readers become curious of what is going to happen next. If you have never read the Harry Potter series, I strongly recommend you to read this series of books because they are awesome!!!!!!!!!!

          1. Why do you read?
     I read because it is my enjoyment. I feel relaxing when I read. I aslo read because it helps me with my school and homework. I also read to widen my knowledge and vocabulary.
       
          2. What benefits do you see in reading? How do you think reading helps you in your daily life?
     Reading gives me knowledhes and help me improving patience as I am reading long novels. Reading gives me idea to solve problems and help me when I am having a conversation with another person.

          3. What do you do well as a reader?
     I always try and finish a book even though it's quite boring or there's no excitement in a book. I always try to find out and understand what a book is talking about.

          4. Do you read for pleasure at home? How often? What do you you enjoy reading?
     Not usually, but yes. I read once a day but only for a short time like 45 minutes. I enjoy reading novels of Fantasy or Fiction. I also enjoy reading comedy.

          5. How does reading make you feel?
     I just read and I don't feel so excited about reading. There's only some books which is good that makes me feel excited. Anyway, reading makes me feel relaxing and I reads when I want to sleep because it really makes me sleepy (Not because the book is boring :D).

         6. How do you select a book to read for enjoyment?
     Around me, there are friends, my schools librarian and my brother which loves and are interested in books which could help me to make the right alternate to have good books to read.

          7. What do you do with the booko before you start reading it?
     I buy it or borrow it, that's it. I don't realy do anything to a book before I start reading it.

          8. As you read, are you aware of any strategies you use when you don't understand a word? A passage?
      I always have a dictionary near me or  my brother so I can look for words or ask. If I don't understand what a certain passage means, I can go and ask my school's librarian or my teacher.

          9. When you finish a book, what do you do?
     I smile. :D. I will find out if the book is in a series. If yes, then I will find the next book and read it (only if it is good, :P)

          10. What are some books of your favorite?
     Some books that is my favorite are:
