Changes - Tupac Shakur

1. What is the tone of the song?
The tone of the song is sad. This song sounds very sad actually. It is very emotional.
2. What imagery does Tupac use?
The used all of his senses to make the imagery from the words. He created a really clear picture of his life at the time and the people around him.
3. What figurative language does he use?
           He uses rhymes, onomatopoeia, alliterations.
4. Make a text-self connection.
Tupac sounds so like he is looking at an incident but he cannot do anything to help. I sometimes get into this situation as well. A crash smash into my vision but I can't help!
5. Make a text-text connection.
This song is about racism, I have read a poem which is also about racism.
6. Make a text-world connection.
The first connection is racism. Now, racism is a big problem all over the world. It isn't as bad as it was before but white people still treat blacks badly. The second connection is selling drugs, and this is a hot issue right now. Lots of people are selling drugs, despite of all the consequences they would receive!

Novel Reflection: Rowan of Rin

Choice 2: Create a Blog Post about your Novel.

I just finished the first book of the series Rowan of Rin. This picture is below is the cover of the book :)

This book is a very suspenseful book which has a lot of exciting events. This book is about a weak and discourageous boy but at last saved his village from a disaster. The river of the city that gives the bukshahs their water runs dry. The village depends on the bukshah. They have their cheese, milk, butter,... from the bukshahs and the river is the only source they can drink from. Now, it runs dry. The village people were really worried about this. They made a team to journey into the forbidden and mysterious mountain which lies in the village. Before that, they went to met Sheba which is a witch that can tell people the future or help them with things they need to know but they have to give her cheese or something in exchange. When the adults came with the cheese from Rowan, they laughed at the stupid fortune telling from Sheba and only Rowan was feared of it. Since so, Sheba gave only him the map of the mountain. The 6 strongest and most trained adults went on the journey with the aid of Rowan's map. Rowan's only job was to open the map for the others to see. However, when the map starts to reveal warnings and guides, Rowan is the person who unlock and decode these guides and helped the team. The 6 adults were all trained very well and they are almost fearless. However, the mountain tends to destroy their courage. At last, Rowan himself had to deal with the fierce creature on the top of the mountain and gave the village the water back.

          About the author: EMILY RODDA

Emily Rodda is an Australian author. Emily's real name is Jennifer Rowe. Emily was borned in Sydney in 1948. Right now she is in the age of 64. The most notable of her children's works are the series of Deltora Quest, Teen Power Inc. Fairy Realm and Rowan of Rin. She got lots of award from 1985 to 2008, especially the Australian Children's Book Council Book of the Year for Younger Readers Award from the book Something Special.

My opinion: I think this book is very good because it gives me quite a surprise and a shock because the village of Rin was saved by a weak and timid boy. I think the city should have been saved by a strong and powerful hero or some source of unnatural power. I think it is also good because there is not much of killing, especially the dragon, which is usually the creature the hero would have to deal with in fights and would have to kill. However, in this story, Emily Rodda made the dragon a fierce one but not the type of dragon that the savior would want to kill. ;) This book is just marvelous absolutely 5/5 in my own rating opinion. CHECK THIS BOOK OUT! :)

Defying Gravity - Wicked

This song is superbly good. The melody of this song is very smooth and nice. I personally think this song is about Freedom. Freedom is a thing that every citizen should have ;) Like I have no freedom at home. All of the things I do at home is under my parent's control. For example, they don't let me play computer games. I just feel like I need freedom at home. It is like a prison with computers to use, books to read and beds to lay on also with fans to make yourself cool. :))
